GPA

GPA is the unified way that high schools represent a student's grades with a single number. The calculation considers all grades (generally by semester) from 9th to 12th grade, assigning the grade a numerical value and averaging all values.

Unweighted GPA

  • Disconsiders rigor
  • 0 - 4.0

Weighted GPA

  • Rigor alters points
  • 0 - 6.0 (Horizon)
  • Honors: +0.5 post conversion
  • College-level: +1.0 post conversion

Class Types

Standard

Normal difficulty, 4.0 weighted GPA.

Honors

More challenging, 5.0 weighted GPA.

AP/AICE

College-level, 6.0 weighted GPA.

Dual Enrollment

Actual college classes, 5.0 weighted GPA. Warning: taking a Dual Enrollment class will affect your college GPA as well.

Standardized Testing

Includes EOC, ESOL, FAST, SAT, ACT, AP & AICE & IB tests.

Scholarships

Merit-based and need-based awards. Bright Futures program details included.

Enrollment

Requirements: birth certificate/passport, proof of physical & vaccinations, academic transcript, proof of residence.

Attendance

Too many unexcused absences may result in disciplinary action. Excused absences include sickness, religious holidays, university visits. Use Sign-Out Form to notify.

Grades, graduation requirements, attendance history, academic history. Accessed by both parents and students.

Canvas

Teachers post content, classwork, and grades before Skyward updates.

ParentSquare

Communication platform for parents with announcements and events.

Xello

Tracks college application progress for 12th grade students.

Students must get athletic clearance via AthleticClearance.com.
